Three Centuries of History
Château de Bagens was built between 1852 and 1870, commissioned by Gaspard de Fornier de Clauselles, heir to a Restoration-era majorat. This majestic building reflects the ambition and refinement of the Second Empire aristocracy, a period marked by architectural renewal and a pronounced taste for French elegance.
Built according to the aesthetic principles of the 19th century, the château perfectly embodies the art of living of this prosperous era. Its balanced architecture and harmonious proportions reflect the pursuit of a blend between classical tradition and emerging modernity. The estate was designed as a retreat where the art of hosting was cultivated in an enchanting setting.
Today, Château de Bagens has preserved its authenticity while adapting to contemporary requirements. Its interior and exterior architecture have been carefully maintained, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the 19th-century atmosphere. The remarkably preserved park benefits from heritage protection, ensuring its conservation for future generations. This recognition attests to the estate’s exceptional historical and scenic value, as it continues to write its story by hosting your most memorable events.
